We received a timely and thought-provoking teaching from our Apostle, as we began our new series for the month of August: Durable Riches and Righteousness

This message challenged us to examine one of the greatest tests of the human heart: our relationship with money.
Apostle began by reminding us that discipleship is progressive. God is intentional about our growth, and He is committed to raising balanced believers.
Here are a few key points from the service:
📌 God is not only interested in what we’re doing well, but He also wants us to grow in the areas where we’re lacking.
📌 It is possible to tick every moral box and still have your heart ruled by money. (Luke 18:18–30, Mark 10:17–22)
📌 A genuine encounter with Jesus can change our relationship with money. (Luke 19:1–10)
📌 When Christ truly captures your heart, your values begin to change. Money reveals the heart. Money is a spiritual stethoscope.
📌 The things we spend on without hesitation often reveal what we truly value.
📌 We may pray well and know the Scriptures, but when money is involved, who do we obey? (Matthew 6:24)
📌 Money makes a terrible master but an excellent servant.
📌 FIVE TRUTHS GOD WANTS US TO KNOW ABOUT MONEY
1️⃣ Money wants your worship.
• God desires us to prosper even as our souls prosper. (3 John 2)
• Prosperity should never cost your soul. (Mark 8:36)
2️⃣ Contentment is one of the highest financial skills. (1 Timothy 6:5–6)
Godliness with contentment is great gain. We should always remember to:
• Beware of covetousness. (Luke 12:15)
• Don’t measure your worth by what you own.
• Live free from the pressure to impress.
3️⃣ Wealth is invisible.
• Real wealth doesn’t always announce itself.
• Simplicity and quiet stewardship often reveal greater wealth than loud displays ever could.
4️⃣ Never defile your conscience to build your income.
• Integrity is priceless. Reject shortcuts and honour due process.
5️⃣ Hard work is still God’s original means of provision.
• Our work is our worship. We must be excellent and keep learning.
• Faith empowers responsibility, but it never replaces it.
God is not against wealth. He is against wealth that competes with Him.
As we step into this week, let us pursue durable riches with righteousness—wealth built on integrity, stewarded with wisdom, and surrendered completely to Christ. ❤️
