Like Incense - Friend Of God

There's an intimacy in friendship, but there is also a responsibility to it. God loves everyone so much, that He died for us. But even for God, friendship is an exclusive list. When we talk about friendships, we talk about shared values and burdens. God desires friendship from us. The same way we want to be vulnerable with God is the same way He wants to be vulnerable to us. He wants to share His values and burdens with us. We are partners with God (1 Corinthians 3:9, 2 Corinthians 6:1), and ambassadors of His kingdom (2 Corinthians 5:20). We are to serve the best interest of our kingdom here on earth. God needs partnership. Jesus cannot both be savior and preacher. God needs us. He is placing a demand on our friendship.
