BOUNDARY MARKERS

Sermon notes
He started by highlighting that most people take on the title of Christianity without consecration. Sometimes, we demonstrate Christianity as only being bothered about a God that helps us win in life. This is because most people don’t understand what consecration means, entails or demands.
He further stated that the first step to Ebenezer is accepting the futility in doing life without God. The people who deserve divine help are the ones who are convinced that they cannot do it on their own.
Things the children of God did to retrace their steps after the ark of God departed: 1. They put away foreign gods. We must put away idols from our lives, meaning those things that make us compromise. (1 Samuel 7:3, 1 John 5:21) 2. They gathered together in humility. Devotions must be sacrosanct in your life. (1 Samuel 7:6)
📌 There must be boundary markers, of things that are past in our lives.
📌 Ebenezer stirs up our minds towards the principle of meditation. This helps us remember God’s goodness.
📌 We must have the covenant of God in areas of our lives by building structure over discipline. It is one thing to have the discipline of a prayer life, and another to set structures. ( Deuteronomy 6:6-9)
In the Ebenezer year, we recognize the acronym H.E.L.P.E.D ➔ H - Humility. We will recognize that it is not in man to direct his own ways. ➔ E - Eucharistic remembrance. We remember all that God has done. ➔ L - Life together. We will fellowship and grow in God’s word together. ➔ P - Posterity. We will take family seriously. ➔ E - Experience and growth. We will take spiritual discipline, emotional maturity, skills, structure and stewardship seriously. ➔ D - Deployment. We are reinforcing our conviction on divine help so that we can go with much more force.
