A Healing Church

Summary

We continued our teaching on Total Wholeness with a powerful sermon from our Apostle, titled “A Healing Church.” 🔥

Sermon notes

We were reminded that the finished work of Christ has brought us into a new reality, but many believers still live according to old mental models. Sometimes, the limitation is not what God has made available to us, but what we have allowed ourselves to believe is possible.

The New Testament has given every believer access to the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts, divine guidance, and the ability to participate in the works of God. We are not spectators in the Kingdom. We are called to grow, mature, and become people through whom God’s power and healing can be expressed. ❤️‍🔥

📌 Here are some points to note from the sermon: 👇🏾

📍 You Cannot Live in the New With an Old Mental Model • There is a tendency to experience the realities of the New Testament while still thinking according to the limitations of the Old.

• Many things we once considered exclusive to “spiritual people” or people with titles are now available to every believer through Christ and the Holy Spirit.

• Growth requires renewing our minds to understand what is possible in Christ.

📍 Know God for Yourself • When Moses was away, the Israelites quickly created an idol because they had not developed a personal relationship with God. Moses had become their spiritual reference point.

• Faith in the New Testament is not simply trusting God when your pastor is around. You must know God for yourself.

• There are battles you cannot depend on another person’s faith to fight for you. Your own faith must grow.

📍 There Is More Available to Us in Christ • The saints who have gone before us have experienced realities we have not yet experienced, but there are also realities available to us now because we live in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit.

• The outpouring Joel prophesied about is being experienced in our generation (Joel 2:28).

• You do not need a title before you can be used by God. The New Testament anointing is not reserved for a select few. Nobody is left out.

📍 Do Not Wait Until Heaven to Believe • There are realities of Christ that we are called to experience here and now.

• Do not postpone your expectation of God’s power, guidance, healing, and supernatural possibilities until you get to heaven.

• What Christ has made available should become a present reality in the life of the believer.

📍 Spiritual Growth Requires Discipline • There are some battles you may enter that another person cannot simply pray you out of. Your faith must be developed.

• God may accommodate certain things in the early stages of your walk because of your ignorance, but maturity requires that you grow beyond that stage.

• Prayer has a cumulative effect. Consistency builds spiritual capacity.

📍 God Is Building a People, Not Just a Platform • Ephesians 4:11–12 shows that spiritual leaders are given to equip the saints for the work of ministry.

• The goal is not for the pastor to do everything while everyone else watches. The goal is to raise believers who can represent Christ wherever they are.

📍 Your Family Should Know God Through You • When God wanted to establish a generational legacy, He chose a family.

• Abraham’s relationship with God became a legacy that was passed down through generations.

• We should not build families where children only encounter the reality of God when they come to church.

• Our homes should become places where faith is modelled, prayer is normal, and the power of God is known.

📌 Disciplines of the Person Who Serves God With His Mind:

📍 1. Discipline Your Content • You must become intentional about what you allow into your soul.

• There must be a “customs agent” over your heart, carefully examining what comes in and rejecting what does not belong.

• There are things you must deliberately embrace because they stir your faith, and there are things you must deliberately shun because they weaken it.

📍 2. Develop a Discipline of Prayer • Prayer requires consistency. You show up, and you keep showing up.

• Build a structure that makes prayer a regular part of your life. Morning devotion, corporate prayer, and personal prayer are all structures that help cultivate consistency.

• One of the things that strengthens intercession is knowing that God can count on you.

📍 3. Practice Meditation • Joshua 1:8 reminds us of the importance of continually meditating on God’s Word.

• Your exposure should be connected to your destination. There are things you need to see and encounter repeatedly because they expand your understanding of what is possible.

• Create “sight projects” for your life. Expose yourself to the realities you are trusting God to accomplish.

📍 4. Demonstrate the Power of God 🔥 • Make sure you experience the power of God in your own life, whether or not you ever stand behind a microphone.

• Your children should not have to wait until they get to church to learn that God answers prayers, heals, guides, provides, and moves in the lives of His people.

• We are called to become a healing church, where the reality of Christ is experienced not only in our gatherings but in our homes, workplaces, relationships, and communities.

Ultimately, a healing church is made up of believers who have grown in their understanding of Christ, developed their faith, embraced spiritual discipline, and become carriers of what they have received. ❤️‍🔥

The goal is not simply to attend a church where miracles happen. It is to become a people through whom the reality of Jesus is made known wherever we go.

So grow your faith. Know God for yourself. Build spiritual disciplines. Let your home encounter God. And become a vessel through which healing, hope, and the power of Christ can reach others.

We are not waiting for a healing church. We are becoming one. 🔥
